    Day-by-Day Hajj Journey

    The sacred journey of Hajj spans 5-6 days, taking pilgrims through Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah, and back to Mina for the stoning rituals.

    8th Dhul Hijjah

    Yawm al-Tarwiyah (Day of Quenching)

    Mina

    Pilgrims enter Ihram and proceed to Mina. Spend the day and night in Mina Tents, performing five prayers (Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr).

    Travel to Mina
    Pray Dhuhr to Fajr in Mina
    Rest and prepare for Arafat

    9th Dhul Hijjah

    Yawm al-Arafah (Day of Arafat)

    Arafat → Muzdalifah

    The most important day of Hajj. Pilgrims stand at Arafat from noon to sunset in prayer and supplication, then proceed to Muzdalifah.

    Travel to Plain of Arafat after Fajr
    Stand at Arafat (Wuquf) from noon to sunset
    Combine Dhuhr and Asr prayers
    Proceed to Muzdalifah after sunset
    Collect pebbles for Rami
    Spend night under the stars

    10th Dhul Hijjah

    Yawm al-Nahr (Day of Sacrifice / Eid al-Adha)

    Mina

    Return to Mina for the first stoning of Jamarat al-Aqabah (largest pillar), animal sacrifice, and shaving/cutting of hair.

    Return to Mina after Fajr at Muzdalifah
    Stone Jamarat al-Aqabah (7 pebbles)
    Animal sacrifice (Qurbani)
    Shave or trim hair (Halq/Taqsir)
    Exit Ihram state
    Perform Tawaf al-Ifadah in Makkah
    Return to Mina Tents

    11th Dhul Hijjah

    First Day of Tashreeq

    Mina

    Stay in Mina and perform stoning of all three Jamarat (small, medium, large) after Dhuhr prayer.

    Stay in Mina Tents
    Stone all three Jamarat after Dhuhr (7 pebbles each)
    Rest, worship, and make dua
    Optional: Sa'i if not done on 10th

    12th Dhul Hijjah

    Second Day of Tashreeq

    Mina → Makkah

    Stone all three Jamarat again after Dhuhr. Pilgrims can leave Mina before sunset or stay for the third day.

    Stone all three Jamarat after Dhuhr (7 pebbles each)
    Leave Mina before sunset (if departing early)
    Perform Tawaf al-Wida (Farewell Tawaf) before leaving Makkah

    13th Dhul Hijjah

    Third Day of Tashreeq (Optional)

    Mina → Makkah

    Optional additional day in Mina. Stone all three Jamarat one more time, then return to Makkah.

    Stone all three Jamarat after Dhuhr (7 pebbles each)
    Return to Makkah
    Perform additional Tawaf and prayers
    Prepare for departure

    What are Mina Tents?

    Mina Tents are fire-resistant, air-conditioned camps in the Mina valley where over 3 million Hajj pilgrims stay during specific days of the pilgrimage. These modern tents are organized into zones based on their distance from the Jamarat (stoning pillars).

    • 8th Dhul Hijjah: Night before Arafat (Tarwiyah)
    • 10th Dhul Hijjah: Return after Arafat & Muzdalifah (Eid)
    • 11th-12th Dhul Hijjah: Days of Tashreeq (Stoning days)
