Best Time to Visit
Outside Hajj season (Dhul Hijjah), Ramadan offers special blessings. Cooler months (November-February) are more comfortable.
Prayer Times
Masjid al-Haram is open 24/7. Arrive 30-45 minutes early for congregational prayers, especially Friday prayers.

Spiritual Significance
The Kaaba, located at the center of Masjid al-Haram, is considered the "House of Allah." Built by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Ismail (AS), it serves as the Qibla—the direction Muslims face during their five daily prayers. The Hajj pilgrimage to Makkah is one of the five pillars of Islam, obligatory for every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it.
During Umrah and Hajj, pilgrims perform Tawaf—circumambulating the Kaaba seven times in an anti-clockwise direction. They also perform Sa'i, walking between the hills of Safa and Marwa seven times, commemorating Hajar's search for water for her son Ismail.
The well of Zamzam, which miraculously appeared to save Hajar and Ismail, continues to provide water to millions of pilgrims each year. Drinking Zamzam water is considered a blessed act, and many pilgrims take bottles home for their families.
